Founder and Executive Director Dr. Michael J. Lacqua initially traveled to Central America to provide plastic surgical care to patients of the Cayo District of Belize. Seeing the vital need for other services, Healing Hands Abroad has expanded to provide a variety of surgical, wound care and radiological services. Volunteer doctors and nurses from Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn and Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island make up the core members of the Healing Hands Abroad family.  More recently, doctors and health care providers from throughout the United States have joined us in our mission.
